I am a teacher
I am the Professor of Trombone at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I have served on the faculty since 2004. Prior to teaching at UW-Madison, I taught at the Conservatory of Music at Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL and at Florida International University in Miami, FL. Here at UW-Madison, I teach the Trombone Studio, coach chamber music, direct the Low Brass Ensemble (a combination Trombone Choir and Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble), teach a Low Brass Fundamentals course to Music Education students, and coach orchestra, wind ensemble and jazz orchestra sectionals. In addition to my activities at UW-Madison, I conduct clinics, master-classes and workshops throughout the state of Wisconsin (at high school band programs) and throughout the country (at various colleges, universities and music conservatories). I have given masterclasses on topics related to music, performance and music technology in 17 countries on five continents. I consider myself a lifelong student of music, brass and all things mind boggling, and LOVE the fact that my career involves teaching at a World-Class Big 10 Research University- ON WISCONSIN!
